The Path of the Few

I found this piece of writing from a few years ago recently and I love it so thought I would share it here. I remember it flowed through me from another place and timeline,

Interestingly, yesterday was Mary Magdalene day I heard – one of the holders of ancient feminine mysteries. Labelled a prostitute, in truth she was a teacher of sacred temple arts. She could guide men through their warrior defences into the softness of their hearts, enabling them to come into their full power as men who had overcome their egoic pride sufficiently to open to their inner feminine and relax into gentleness, without losing their trusted roles as protectors and initiators of action.

To become a teacher to men like this, a woman must herself carry sufficient (and balanced) masculine energy to hold herself steady in the face of whatever she will meet from the man as he first resists and deepens into the aggressor distortion of polarised masculine energy and then, eventually, dissolves into the helplessness of a newborn when he experiences life without all the defensive and offensive structures he has erected within himself.

For a time he will rest upon the bosom of his teacher, as a child nestles into a mother’s lap, and will be soothed by her unerring strength, which comes from uninhibited, unconditional love and complete, loving acceptance of this man, found without his protective shell. To her, this man is more precious than any jewel and more strong than any wild animal or warrior. He has had the courage to lay down at the feet of a woman and ask her,

‘Please show me the way back to my heart. Please show me how to fully feel again.’

The woman knows this is the path to true power and, gladly, she will show this man the way. The way deep into himself. The way of involution. And he will be reborn, and there will be another man in the world to meet her where she is at. And in this she rejoices.

On this auspicious day we had a huge forest fire in the valley where I live. The men rushed out on tractors, with fire-fighting tools, and entered the fray with barely disguised relish. They loved working together like this, to protect the community. It was beautiful. But which of them will go to the next level of service and offer up their ego at the temple door? This remains to be seen, for it is the path of the few.
