A voice for nature

Nature speaks through me. She whispers to all of us who have ears to listen.

When I walk through the woods she comes through me as ancient songs, arising from the bones of the Earth.

When I tend the garden she imparts jewels of wisdom, always reminding me to trust the natural unfolding of life; everything has its own timing. Why the hurry? Have faith, relax, experience each moment in its fullness.

Life is a precious gift. Sure, it’s pretty intense out there at the moment on one level but, as soon as you tune into nature, she is as vibrantly still and peacefully busy as she ever was. All it takes is to drop into a deeper awareness.

When I sit by the sacred orifice of our water mine, soothed by the steady trickle of pure, rock-filtered water from deep within, I feel rooted and powerful like a mountain and soft and gentle like a flower. There is a rare peace here. The world slows to near stillness, each movement amplified. The frog guardians watch me, the fern guardians quiver almost imperceptibly and the spider guardians weave their web of protection across this sacred portal. All at once I am aware of the ancient past, the now and the future.

Sometimes I receive visions or feelings of the infinite tenderness, strength and safety of a mother’s love and I trust these. This place feels like a direct line to our great mother Earth, and I know she loves us dearly, even when we may have forgotten this, and even though we may dishonour her with our actions. But her pure, healing. crystal-clear water still arises from deep within her belly for us to imbibe and, gradually, we are remembering her as our inner waters are cleansed, bit by bit, in a perfection of timing we cannot comprehend with our minds.
