7-Day Intensive Professional Massage Training

Myofascial Release & Deep Tissue Massage Training with Carlos Eleno, Quinta da Pomba, Portugal

We are delighted to be hosting this professional massage training with experienced teacher, Carlos Eleno, where technique meets deep listening and conscious touch. This course is aimed at therapists and individuals who wish to deepen their way of working with the body, for example by refining palpation, reducing physical effort, and accessing a deeper, more precise and respectful approach. Through myofascial work, craniosacral principles, and biodynamic integration, you will learn to work not from force, but from depth. The course is also suitable for anyone else who has a curiosity about the body, massage, conscious touch and who may wish to move into offering professional massages following the course, or at least feel confident to offer high-quality, effective massages to family and friends. No previous massage experience is necessary; some knowledge of anatomy could be useful but is not essential as this will all be covered during the course.

During the course we will explore the following:

– Myofascial massage and deep tissue techniques
– Craniosacral principles and biodynamic integration
– Touch, palpation and manual listening
– Postural biomechanics and myofascial chains
– Body reading and assessment
– States of presence and mindfulness in therapeutic work

The course will run from 9am-1pm and from 3-5pm each day, beginning on August 16 and finishing August 22, with a day off on Wednesday August 19. Your course fee of €600 includes all teaching sessions, a comprehensive illustrated manual, which will be an essential resource during and following the course, your completion certificate (subject to meeting the course criteria) and a catered lunch by our retreat chef on each of the 6 study days.

The course will be hosted at our beautiful home and rustic retreat venue, Quinta da Pomba, with training sessions carried out in our stunning, spacious Roundhouse. On-site accommodation is available for the seven nights of the retreat from €100 (bell-tent, caravan, dome or campervan) with the option to self-cater using our communal kitchen area. On the day off and between study sessions, our land offers a peaceful haven to relax and unwind in, with beautiful forest trails to explore from our doorstep, and huge granite boulder formations, medieval villages and neolithic sites within walking distance, as well as our local cafe. A small town, Fornos de Algodres, with cafes, restaurants, shops, basic services and a swimmable river beach is a 10 minute drive away.

Our teacher is Carlos Eleno, manual therapist, acupuncturist, and osteopath, with over 18 years of experience and more than a decade training therapists in various countries.
